Went in to a place I haven't been for a while. Food was very good. Perch was excellent. Service good. Turned out to be a good place to revisit

KEEP DRIVING.... This place has been open forever. The food was good in the late 70's and early 80's with various incarnations since. As of 2014, GST is a pale imitation of it's former glory. To maintain profit margins, the business model revolves around prepackaged, preheated glump foods. The fish and chips was more bread than fish. The bar is decent, have a beer and some deep fried appetizers of the usual ilk. Nothing else. The food is marginal at best made with zero flair. Not recommended.

From the service, to the environment and the food, this place is absolutely horrible. The waitress was horrible, it was very slow and she had an attitude like it was super busy or something. Then the food was the most boring thing I've ever eaten. I got the tavern jimmy and the lettuce was old and brown. I ended up getting sick off this food and i will never step foot back in this restaurant again. The place did have potential to be a good "bar" scene but it wasn't a fun laid back place to be.

Frank. We came in on Tuesday, July 14th between 1:30 and 2pm. I'm pretty leary about coming back in. I'll be honest with you. I've heard about many more bad experiences than good ones from people I know. But we'll see. Thanks for taking the time to respond, and I hope this really was an isolated incident.

Was a pretty decent place.. Pretty good menu. They promoted a lot of beer on signs around the building but no beer menu at tables so not sure how good or bad their selection was. Food was good though. They had specials that were half price of the regular price.

The Green Street Tavern. This was the type of place that made you wonder why you walked in the door. Once inside, it is nice, rustic, and the type of place a guy could hang out in. Michelle was a great Barkeep and the crowd was nice. There were only a couple of burgers on the menu but both were done nicely !/3 lb Elk- onion, dill slices, and lettuce Burger- *** Price- **** Service- **** Overall- ***.85 And the Buffalo burger topped with the same Burger- *** Price- ***.5 Service- ***.5 Overall- *** This is an outdoors mans haven. worth a shot for sure if you're in the vicinity!

Really do not know where to begin here. After a long day of boating we were starved and stopped here because it looked cool from the street. The inside was pretty nice but that is about all. The service was horrible!! The place was almost empty and it took us over an hour to get our meals...and it was just burgers. Then two of the burgers were way over-cooked and nothing was really going right. I am not going to take too many shots here..needless to say I will never go back.

Ok we keep coming back here hoping the next time will be better. Beer is beer no complaints and service was great. Server #14 forgot to catch her name. Sweet girl and attentive. Food very mediocre, I had the Sirloin Gorgonzola Mr. It was cooked Medium I could tell when it was landed by the blood on top of steak. Perfect pink medium! I am not overly picky and will not send back medium even though I want MR. What did get my goat was the Feta cheese being passed for gorgonzola. Dry chalky cheese few minced mushrooms scant onions and Michigans own nasty zip sauce.. blaauck! The ultra dry feta with a not so great grade of beef and barely a fricken mushroom to wet the dryness help it slide over my pallet. Lol. Bread dry and tasteless fell apart into my lap as I tried to eat. My girlfriend decided to try the club crackers. Omg also stale. Really??? The clqm chowder had good flavor but was thick and pasty. Cher's fish sandwiche fishy and watery. Mushy. Sweet potatoe fries over cooked. Will we return? Probably not. Boat Yard farther drive for us but had better experiences. Green Street in our back yard not recommended by us.

Compared to other local taverns (and I ve been to them all) GST has the best burger around. The half pound burger (3.99)comes with a free mug of beer. Cheese xtra. Its fire-grilled so it taste like its cooked outdoors! Fish and chips(8.99) also very good and you get your moneys worth for. I ve paid alot mrre for fish not as good. Going to try the flame-grilled chicken breast next. Pitchers a little pricey but happy hour price not too bad, about 7.50. Beer(draft) tastes great-not some cheap rip-off like some places Oh yeah, almost forgot ,If youn like pizza their Tavern bread is great with 4 real cheeses.

The food is good, the service is good, the price is fair. The location is off the beaten path, so it would need to cater to the locals. The main problem is this place has an identity issue. The atmosphere seems to be split in two. On one side you have the bar and the other side is the dining area, each with its own door. When you walk into the door leading to the bar, watch your step! The bar area has its regulars drinking and smoking, the atmosphere feels dirty and outdated. At minimum, the bar area seemed to be confusing on which its audience it was targeting. I am not sure how this place will adjust when the smoke free law takes place, but I hope its for the better. The back door leads you to the main dining area after a view of the smoky bar, and a giant stuffed bear. The dining area could also use some updates, but when it is tied to the bar in the next room, I am not even sure it would be worth it. The dining area was much more family oriented, with a few flat screens for sports and old bar mirrors. All the dinners I have had tasted good. I have also eaten a burger there, which is really affordable. You do pay extra for each condiment, which is expected when the price is so low. Apparently, they have a Sunday buffet, but I have yet to taste. They have also made an outside area. It is too bad this restaurant is not on the water. I have yet to eat outside, nor do I have any incline to do so, as there is no scenery to look at unless County Line has a parade or something exciting happens at 7-11. I see little marketing to bring me in, but they do have coupons if you look around. Being an Irish restaurant they do have a nice St Pattys day entertainment. I know, you are wondering why I called it Irish when this is the first I mentioned it. Well it is on Green street but the font on the sign looks Celtic. Regardless, the parking lot gets packed so come early. This use to be the only place, until that other Irish bar opened down the road. Please Gordon Ramsey visit this place. I would love to see your spin.

Heading out this way to visit some friends one night, I was having a lot of trouble finding it (not being from the area). Luckily, I had mobibo on, and it told me that I was near. A few more feet, and I found the place. I have restaurants like this in my home town, and I love the Irish bar/pub feel. We were strictly going out for a few drinks, but I quickly got hungry and had to grab something to eat. The burgers seemed very cheap, and well worth the cost, cooked to my specifications just right. Having some drinks and a burger, can't really complain about this establishment. The decor lead us to believe it was a place to have a good time, and that's exactly what we did. We saw the option to eat outside, but taking into account the scenery, we just decided to eat indoors (there isn't much to see). Good place to have an early evening food and drink.

After a fifteen year hiatus, and different ownership, it will be ANOTHER FIFTEEN YEARS before I go back

I had a cheese burger and seasoned fries. The service was okay but should've been better since we were the only people in the place. The burger meat was pretty good but seemed over cooked. I had to ask for a refill on my drink when the server could've noticed my drink getting low multiple times.

Far from the Green Street I recall from several years back. DON'T fall for their sign touting the "best corned beef sandwich in Michigan". More like the most mediocre over -priced corned beef sandwich. Even the pickle was lousy. We also tried the over priced beef tips appetizer. WHY drown steak and blue cheese in barbecue sauce? The dusty heads of dead animals staring at you while you eat, does not aid the appetite. Never again Green Street,
